Cyber Crime Investigator
First woman cybercrime investigator
Me
I call this my destiny. never even in my dreams the idea of being an investigator ever occurred. Cyber Crime was completely a new topic to me like anyone else. I was always open to trying new things and am always open to new learnings and doing things differently. Attending a workshop turned events for me.
The year was 2003. My Grandfather’s elder brother - Sri P B Menon insisted that I learn this subject called Cyber Crimes and Cyber Laws. He trusted that I had it in me to made it in this space. He was the senior advocate in Supreme Court of India. He was an author himself. He has authored a book named - In Three Indias.
I did not seek to be a cyber crime investigator, this profession chose me.
It came handy that I had learnt computers and had some working experience in this space already. But most of all the commitment I had to anything that I undertook worked the best. The journey was not all a bed of roses but lot came as advantage to my support. I still believe in the long run its our attitude and resilience to tide over any situation is what matters more than our skills.
The biggest accolades after I got into this area are:
The day my grandfather spotted out a newspaper report which said that he was my grandfather and that paper cutting he had trimmed out to display.
The day my father received an award on behalf of me from the school my son studied.
And of course, the day spent in the Rashtrapathi Bhawan for my award along with 100 other eminent and proficient ladies.
The learning continues and there is more to come ....................

From the time I remember I was dancing. Amma says I started learning dance before I was 3. For me dance is my way of conversing with my Almighty. Whether it is learning dance, practicing dance, teaching dance, performing dance or even discussing dance - the experience is fulfilling and energising, something never tires me.
Dance did take a backseat in my life at a point of time. I was not learning or practicing or performing, but I must admit that even so I was dancing as I used to read, and teach. From 1999 to 2009 I did not perform or practice dance. Then again, I got back to dancing full-fledged. I would take time out in my travel schedules to learn and practice dance with my teachers. It took me 2 years of constant practice and working out to get back on stage for a Katcheri in 2012. Like in my childhood the I started with Mohiniyattom and then moved on to Kuchipudi as well. My arangetram was in Mohiniyatton in the year 1983. My restart again in Mohiniyattom in the year 2012.
(not in the order of seniority but in the order they became part of my life)

In her pursuit of excellence, Dhanya has not only honed her technical skills but has also delved deep into the cultural and historical aspects of each dance form. Her performances reflect not only the physicality of the art but also a profound understanding of the stories, emotions, and traditions embedded within the classical repertoire.
