Device Security
Your device is your responsibility. It could be the point of intrusion in your business. Your device could be used to cripple your business or as a gateway to intrude into someone else’s business.
It is very important to maintain proper security for your personal computer — whether it is a laptop or a desktop. Exploits like viruses, worms, Trojans, keyloggers, skimmers, and password filters could lead to data loss, theft, or compromised credentials.
A Few Things You Can Do:
Never leave your device unattended or in common areas accessible to others.
Keep a register of access whenever someone uses your device.
Back up your data regularly and keep multiple copies in different locations.
Memorize access passwords or PINs instead of writing them down.
Encrypt your data securely and follow strict access control policies.
Install updates regularly and use reliable antivirus software and firewalls.
Ensure gadgets are patched with the latest updates and never use pirated software.
Scan external devices before use and maintain password protection.
Remember that physical, technical, and personal security are all equally important.
